I wanted to make this music box have some of it's mechanism exposed. I used gears I found at a salvage yard and musical chimes from an old child's toy. I wanted this one to have more of a random sound, so I mounted the eight chimes on a rig that would turn and have three hammers that would strike them as they turned.
