Painting

I've always had paintings within my work, either as backgrounds or decoration, and people regularly comment how much they like them, so I decided to make pieces that were just paintings, in decorated frames, without any mechanisms.

Jefferson Canadian Club "Jefferson Canadian Club"
2002
22 x 17

This piece was commissioned by a friend who wanted a kind of commemorative piece about her family's summer retreat camp in Canada.

You Are My Sunshine "You Are My Sunshine"
2001
20 1/2 x 15

I painted this as a gift to Paula on her birthday and was my first attempt at a stand-alone painting with frame. Isn't it sweet?

3 Sisters Falls "3 Sisters Falls"
2001
16 x 16

I've always wanted to do paintings of fictional tourist/travel destinations, and 3 Sisters Falls seemed like a natural phenomenon that could exist somewhere, maybe in the Carolinas. I carved the frame in a tramp art style.

Big Rock Candy Mountain "Big Rock Candy Mountain"
2001
approx. 18 x 16

Who doesn't love this song? All of my paintings are done in my version of the Bob Ross TV artist style, but I especially love the way this one turned out.

Piney Mountain "Piney Mountain"
2001
22 x 15

A deep woods/swamp feel to this one, with a fancy frame to boot.
